About this story
A star vanishes, a village holds its breath – and your child picks up the trail. On December 1st, the top of the tree is suddenly empty. Left behind is a feather shimmering blue, and a detective book for your child: the star must be back by Christmas Eve. Off you go with Zuki and Hoppy: into the bakery, onto the ice festival, a hundred steps up the church tower, with the lantern into the winter forest. On every page waits a puzzle your child cracks alone: counting baubles, spotting differences, finding the way across the ice. The thief returns what was lost, raven Krax has an alibi, and in the end no villain waits, but someone who simply didn't want to be alone. Your child gets to give them a name. And when all the lights come on on Christmas Eve, your child stands in the middle of the village – with their name, their face, their story. Read it in one sitting one evening or page by page through Advent. Either way, your child saves Christmas.
