General Terms and Conditions

Zukibooks is operated by Cambrian KlG, In der Luberzen 25, 8902 Urdorf, Switzerland (“Zukibooks”, “we”). These terms apply to all orders placed through zukibooks.com. Deviating terms of the customer do not apply unless we have expressly agreed to them in writing.

Orders may be placed only by persons of full age with the capacity to contract. The presentation of products on this website is an invitation to order, not a binding offer. Your order constitutes an offer to conclude a contract; the contract is formed when we confirm the order by email.

We may decline an order, in particular where the requirements of section 4 are not met or delivery cannot be made. Amounts already paid are refunded in full.

Zukibooks supplies personalised illustrated children's books, produced individually for each order on the basis of the details and the photograph provided by the customer. The scope of each edition — printed and, where offered, digital — is described on the product page.

Minor deviations customary in printing, in particular in colour reproduction, do not constitute defects.

By uploading a photograph you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian or otherwise hold all rights required for its use, and you consent to its processing for the production of the ordered book. Photographs are processed solely for that purpose; details are set out in our Privacy Policy.

Unlawful or infringing content must not be uploaded. We may refuse or cancel orders that do not comply with these requirements.

Delivery costs are shown at checkout before the order is placed, and the price is charged in the currency displayed. Payment is due upon ordering and is processed by our payment service providers.

In the event of an obvious pricing error we may cancel the order against a full refund.

We deliver to Switzerland and to the member states of the European Union. Estimated production and delivery times are shown at checkout; they are estimates, not guaranteed dates. Where an order includes a digital edition, it is delivered separately by email.

Risk passes to the customer upon delivery.

Our books are made to the customer's specification and clearly personalised. In accordance with Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU, the statutory right of withdrawal therefore does not apply to them; the same applies to digital content once supplied (Article 16(m)).

Mandatory consumer rights under the law of your country of residence remain unaffected.

If a delivered book is defective — damaged, misprinted or incomplete — please notify us within 14 days of delivery. We will, at our option, replace the book or refund the purchase price. Statutory warranty rights remain unaffected.

Returns for reasons other than defects are excluded under section 7.

All rights in the stories, illustrations, characters, designs and the Zukibooks brand remain with Cambrian KlG or its licensors. The customer receives a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the purchased book for private, non-commercial purposes.

Any reproduction, distribution, publication or commercial use, and any use for the training of software systems, is prohibited. Rights in uploaded photographs remain with the customer.

Our liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law. It is not excluded for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or for personal injury. To the extent liability is not excluded, it is limited to the value of the order concerned.

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may amend these terms with effect for future orders; the version published at the time of the order applies. We may modify or discontinue parts of the service; confirmed orders are not affected.

These terms are governed by Swiss law, to the exclusion of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The place of jurisdiction is Urdorf, Switzerland; mandatory statutory places of jurisdiction and mandatory consumer-protection provisions remain unaffected.

We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
