You upload one photo of your child. Our artists illustrate every story by hand and our own technology draws your child into that same style as an illustrated character. The finished book is printed and bound for you. If you order the digital edition you also receive a PDF version.

Yes. The photo is used for one thing only, drawing your child's character. It is deleted automatically the moment that illustration exists.

A full-body photo in good, natural light works best, with your child facing the camera and their face clearly visible. Try to avoid shots taken from far away, shots that show only the upper body and photos where sunglasses cover the eyes. Your child should be the only child in the frame. If anything about the photo could be better we will tell you before you continue.

Your child's character takes about four minutes and you watch it happen on screen. If you choose Hardcover + Digital, the digital edition is ready about half an hour after you order, so you can read it the same night. The printed hardcover reaches you in roughly 5 to 7 business days, depending on the country and the shipping option you choose.

Our stories are written for children roughly 1 to 8. Each title shows its own age range, so you can pick the one that fits.

You choose the story and you choose what your child wears in it: the outfit from their photo, or one that fits the story perfectly.

Of course. You can make a book for any child and you don't have to be their parent. All you need is one clear photo of them. We don't offer gift wrapping just yet, though it is coming soon. Until then, taking the time to wrap it yourself is part of the pleasure of giving a present to a child.

Yes. The digital edition arrives as a PDF download link by email. You can open it on a phone, tablet or computer. There is no app to install and no account to sign in to.

Credit and debit cards, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay where your device offers them. In Switzerland you can also pay with TWINT.

That is exactly how it works. You see your child's character and the first spreads of their book first, for free, then decide whether to buy the rest.

Because each book is made for one child, we cannot take it back once it is printed.

It is deleted automatically as soon as we have created an illustration from it. To make the book, we only work with the illustrated version of your child.

Your data is held on European servers and we are a Swiss company, so both the GDPR and the Swiss FADP apply.

Write to info@zukibooks.com and we will delete your order history and any artwork we still hold.

That depends on the country we are shipping to. We always offer a standard and an express option at checkout. Producing your book takes about 2 business days, so in total you can expect roughly 5 to 7 business days depending on the shipping option you choose.

We ship to the 27 EU countries and Switzerland today. Delivery is added at checkout and you can choose standard or express. More countries are coming.
